Thanks Nicola! It was lovely to meet you, too. I did indeed get home safely. Public transit was on my side last night so I made it home at a decent hour thankfully!

So funny about fear of running out of reading matter on vacation. I’m the same. It was so bad that I opened a bookstore in a foreign country when we moved there!! There were simply few bookstores in any language in Mexico, so I aimed to change that. After transporting 15k books from San Francisco to southern Mexico it became clear why other foreigners hadn’t tried it. But it did work out ok!

Yes!! I remember you mentioning that and truly that is amazing and also 100% sounds like something I would do. Afraid you won’t have enough books on vacation? Just bring THEM ALL with you!!

I'm the same way when I go on vacation. I usually bring at least four books when I go on a trip. Although, I usually only focus one but I like having options because what if I do finish one? I need to have another on standby just in case. 😊

Yes!!! The uncertainty of not having *any* books to read is deeply unsettling. Need to have more on standby.

My traveling self also wishes to be an e-reading girlie but alas, I am not. I do love finishing a book on a trip and leaving the hard copy for someone else though :)

I didn’t end up reading anything on my iPad this trip: it was mainly used as a French dictionary for that one French book I was reading 🤣 I’m a little gremlin with books though, as much as I’d have liked to leave Pachinko behind, in the end it wouldn’t have mattered much to my luggage.
