I love that gumdrop color!

I love this topic and you’ve laid out so many great things to consider. I got overwhelmed when I first started trying to read diversely so I just tried to start in one area and get comfortable (books in translation on topics/themes that interest me). I sometimes take my reading too seriously this is not a test Natalie! 🥴

I was the guy from Airplane! when I saw that mug: “guess I picked the wrong week to stop buying mugs…”

I totally get that anxiety, too; I sometimes feel like I’m a bad reader and letting down writing for not having read xyz book. I think I’ve finally come to a place where I try to make some intentional choices, but then also recognize that life is too short and I want to read books that I’ll like. Yes, I shall challenge myself and expand my palette, but also I’m going to keep reading fantasy. *bangs gavel* I’m glad they’re helpful guidelines though!! That was truly my hope when writing this - that someone would find it useful.

I love the intentionality behind your approach — I try to do the same!

While obviously thinking more is hard, it’s also important to interrogate our habits!!! Plus you might get new books out of it so that’s always cool.
