I so look forward to your posts. This was so entertaining and insightful.

I would like to point out that having terrible vision and optometrist parents is actually ideal - the money and stress you have saved!! I have prayed for years to marry a dentist but alas I married a (former) hair stylist so while I have amazing hair for free I still spend $$$ at the dentist each year (bummer).

Thank you for the kind words Natalie!!

And it definitely has crossed my mind - my parents are nearing retirement age and I’m already panicking about how much I’m going to have to pay for contacts and glasses going forwards!!!

(We do also love amazing hair. I’m imagining you walking around in like a Pantene commercial or something)

This was an absolutely entertaining post.

I read Slaughterhouse-five decades before you born. It was required reading in high school. It's still one of all time favorite books. Any thing by Kurt Vonnegut is worth reading. Thanks for the post.

I'm so glad you liked it Paul! It's one of those classics that I knew about but had never read and I'm so glad I got around to it.

I only read Slaughterhouse-five because John Green raved about it and I'll do anything John Green tells me to do :)

Like your Dad, I remember zero optometry references so all those sticky notes shocked me!

I came PREPARED. But, I get it: optometry doesn’t really have anything to do with the plot and I can see why it recedes into the background.
