Marissa, if I’d been in your shoes, partially employer-funded, I’d have gone for the MFA too. Or at least taken welding classes (always wanted to learn, especially how to weld w/o burning my hand like last time). Nothing wrong with being jaded when it comes to education. I’ve had bad profs and should have tried to get some of my tuition back. As an example, my law school evidence professor was terrible, old and should’ve retired. When shopping for MFA programs near me, couldn’t find anything within a reasonable price (novelists make so much!) with quality profs and a chance to meet other writers in person (versus online which in my experience isn’t as fulfilling).
