Hello my fellow chaotic literary lovers. Welcome to another Weekly Roundup. Thanksgiving is so close, you can almost smell the canned cranberry sauce.1
In true Chaotic fashion, I got my genetic test results back this week, and it turns out I have a mutation on the gene that no one thought I could have. *insert maniacal laughter here* I’m fine, but do think this qualifies me as a X-Lady now.2 Truly just nothing embodies my overall ethos other than being told that something is impossible, and then have my DNA prove otherwise. With my wibbly-wobby joints still wobbling, here’s your Weekly Roundup.
What I’m reading:
In addition to the 6 other books I’m reading (do as I say, not as I do) I’m reading Madame De suivi de Julietta par Louise de Vilmorin. I am on a constant quest to maintain my French fluency, a struggle when living in a country that doesn’t speak French. I’m behind on my yearly French book quota, so I’m trying to pick up the pace. I’m behind on my yearly book quota, too, but let’s not talk about that right now.
Great for: people who speak French, fans of jewelry.
Bad for: people who speak (and read, and write) English.
What I’m writing:
Very boring this week, but: applications for things. I’ve got a few pitch/scholarship/grant applications due soon, so I’m working on those. Admin work, so sexy, I know. Such is the glamorous life of a working writer.
Great for: financial stability.
Bad for: motivation.
What I’m listening to:
Fire on Fire, by Sam Smith. They really do know how to write a good love song, don’t they? My beige flag is that I can (and will) listen to the same song on repeat for hours on end. That’s what I’ve been doing with this song this week.
Great for: imagining steamy scenes between fictional characters, slow dancing.
Bad for: needing to be energetic in any way shape or form
Mug Moment of the Week:
This week’s featured Mug star is a Starbucks Travel mug that I never use as a travel mug, hence the missing top. It’s a Massachusetts themed one, with lobsters abound. It contains Twinings Lemon and Ginger tea, perfect for disassociating while watching YouTube videos.
That’s it for me, here’s the cat I’m minding for the weekend. Tune in next week for our next Artist Interview, featuring my very talented neighbor Mary!
The only acceptable type of cranberry sauce. No I will not be taking questions or comments otherwise.
Also in search of a shirt that says “Special Little Mutant.”
